21st CCLC Overview
Who We Serve:
Rockdale County was awarded two five-year Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers grants in 2024. Currently, Rockdale County's 21st CCLC grants serve four schools:

J.H. House Elementary School, THRIVE Afterschool Program

Memorial Middle School, Rockdale Bridges Program

Peek's Chapel Elementary School, Rockdale Bridges Program

Salem High School, Rockdale Bridges Program
21st CCLC Purpose:
The purpose of Georgia's Title IV, Part B, Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program is to support the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment during out-of-school hours and serve three specific purposes:

Helps students meet state and local academic standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math.

Offers students a broad array of enrichment opportunities that can complement their regular academic programs.

Offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating students.
Rockdale Bridges and THRIVE Afterschool Program Goals:
Students that participate in these programs will receive targeted interventions and curriculum enrichment through an afterschool program and summer program. We will focus on the following goals:

Improve academic achievement levels in mathematics and reading

Improve positive student development and healthy lifestyle choices

Increase family engagement
